Senate voted on toothless resolution to stay in Syria and Afghanistan
The US Senate voted on a non binding resolution 68-23 to have the US military remain n Syria and Afghanistan. This is not a bill or a law, it is just an expression of disapproval for President Trump’s contention to withdraw from both areas. The pretext for intervention in Afghanistan was to hunt down Al Qaeda and Bin Laden and the pretext for Syria which congress never approved was to defeat ISIS. Both have been accomplished and yet the war party continues to occupy both areas. There are not enough troops in Syria to make a dimes worth of difference on the battle field there. The US is more or less placing meat shields in Syria making it that much harder for Syria, Russia Hezbollah and Iran to defeat the terrorist groups.
This all started when the US created Al Qaeda in the first place to fight Soviets in Afghanistan and following Israeli pressure to turn the “freedom fighters” against the US by placing troops in the holy land in Saudi Arabia in order to fight a war with Iraq as AIPAC demanded. We can see that AIPAC strikes again in congress. Israel has routinely bombed Syria, not ISIS but Syria, without retaliation. Syria cannot retaliate on Israel without bringing down the wrath of the US. However in recent times with the most advanced air defense equipment, Syria has been able to relegate Israel airstrikes to a bunch of loud noise. Israel can still connect around its immediate periphery and that is about it.
Negative Nancys have taken the senate’s latest stunt to confirm their black pilled outlook on Syria. Let me remind you that a non-binding resolution is nothing but a show of attitude. The senate did not block a withdraw. However they did expose themselves. In a vote that should have taken place before invading Syria, the senate has finally put something in writing show who supports staying in Syria and who does not. Ironically more Democrat oppose staying in Syria and Afghanistan than Republicans. However the majority of both agree with war. Every member on that list who voted to stay should face consequences form the public. During the Obama regime, the congress did nothing. They just allowed Obama and Hillary to drag the US into Libya and Syria without a vote of authorization. No doubt if there had been a vote the congress would have capitulated.
Now we have their names. Everyone should be calling the office of their senate and expressing their opinion that the US does not need to waste another dime or another day in America’s longest war, Afghanistan, or in the pointless war in Syria where Kurdish annexation is protected while Al Qaeda is covertly armed to fight the Syrians. Bring them all home. The money saved could pay for several walls.
