I've always assumed C-Span was owned by Turner Networks (I thought the C in the name was for brand familiarity with CNN)
apparently its an independent network.
anyway I prefer C-Span because it is unfiltered politics, and even though the politicians spout bullshit it is at least straight from them.
they're good at playing things that would never get on TV otherwise, and they are good for giving very clear records of what happens in congress.

by the way the reason i think this is SO important is because this "lawyer" is the single reson the bush uses executive orders to exepmt himself from laws such as non torture (as well as Yoo and others), he violates the Geneva Convention. I say this over and over, once you introduc a logic it can be used against you. Now other countries will undoubtably "re interpret" the geneva rules for themselves...it is a slippery slope.
By the way, bush has signed more execute orders THAN ALL OTHER AMERICAN PRESIDENT COMBINED.

Edit- there is a gentleman from palestine on now, who has returned to Palestine to save the economy after 1 year of sanctions. Since Palestinian sympathy runs so high here I thought I would mention this. I'll admit I am just starting to understand some of the basic struggle that is going on there, perhaps some of you could watch and inform those of us who have no idea, who is this gentleman, and does he truly have palestines' best interests at heart.
