Why has no one talked about this yet? How horrible for these poor people. I wish I could help. Let's talk about the issues causing their poverty. I have learned some new things from listening to NPR and Democracy now radio.
I will say this. I am disgusted by the media's worthless and fake concern and sympathy. Where is the coverage and sympathy for the people or Iraq and Afghanistan then suffered through similar things that WE did to them. US media, take your concern and shove it up your ass! Expect me to beleive that they give a fuck about little brown people...

Yeah, I'm kind of disgusted with the whole thing myself. Not only does no one give a shit about the turmoil we're causing in Iraqistan but no one gave a shit about Haiti before the earthquake. I'm a big Wyclef fan, he's probably my favorite mainstream musician, and he's been crusading to ease poverty in Haiti since as far back as I can remember. Africa - people care about Africa. With Africa they can just donate some money and be done with it. Celebs can head over there for a photo shoot and adopt some babies. And since Americans have an inherent guilt about Africa because of the slavery era in this country it makes them feel all warm and fuzzy. But people neglect Haiti.

Haiti was barely standing before the earthquake. Where were all the celebrity do-gooders before this natural disaster happened? They only care about themselves, certainly not the innocent people there.
They certainly didn't care when the US had their president shipped off to Cuba during a coup.

the bbc said that the death toll could reach 100,000.
pat robertson provides us with wisdom on the issue:
Many asserting that there will be violence and unrest in Haiti. Wolf Blitzer asks Sanjay Gupta, “So, in other words there is some ominous indications that people are getting ready to get violent, is that what I am hearing from you, Sanjay?” And below is the Huffington Post’s warning on looting and robbing pre-crimes. Sounds like what they said post-Katrina and what they also said post-invasion of Iraq . . . they warned for many months before the Sunni-vs-Shia ‘civil war’/El Salvador option actually happened.

Fucking great. Looking like my country is now about to 'fast-track' Haitian immigration to Canada. Just what we need...
