Anyone so naive to still think that the world is just having a string of really, really bad luck is seriously myopic.

Not so much myopic as absolutely incredibly ignorant!

What's interesting here in Canada is that our stupid ass of a prime minister will probably get another term, and possibly a majority, because PEOPLE THINK THAT CANADA IS IN SUCH GREAT SHAPE AND HE PUT US HERE.

They should come to where I live and BUY groceries and gas and try paying rent to the slum lords!

I love how they talk about us coming OUT OF this recession here. They have NO idea !

Well, up to this point there hasn't been much to get alarmed about. Food prices have started to rise, but the truth is that our stores are still packed to the rafters will gigantic amounts of relatively cheap food.

And if this article doesn't make you want to stop eating meat, then possibly this one will:

http://meatiskillingtheplanet.wordpress ... come-from/
From Calf to Hamburger, Where Does Meat Come From?

A single feedlot usually has up to 100,000 cattle
Many slaughter houses in the US process 300-400 cattle an hour, twice the rate of anywhere else in the world. This leads to mistakes that cause contamination from fecal matter from the digestive tract or hide of the animal
The turnover rate for workers in slaughter houses is between 75 and 100 percent a year. This leads to unskilled workers who make more mistakes, which could potentially contaminate the meat
All hamburger used by McDonald’s in the US comes from just 5 ground-beef suppliers
The top four meatpacking firms in the US have control of over 85% of the market
The centralized meat processing system means that it is difficult to trace tainted meat to it’s origin, and by the time a recall has been issued (if the source is found), most of the bad meat has been consumed
These huge companies have close ties to those creating food-safety policies and have more control over these policies than the American voters
Almost all ground beef in the US has some level of Salmonella
The USDA does not have the power to instate a mandatory recall of contaminated meat

- so not only is our food expensive, but its crap too.

Time to go back to farming!

I will never stop eating meat. that's what cows and pigs etc are for. I dont care how many are killed in an hour. That's the whole point of breeding them is to kill them and eat them. It's walking food.
I mean it's a fucking cow? I think the sympathy for a cow's life is only a couple steps away from the weirdos who wanna sleep with animals. It's FOOD. They make milk and leather and meat. T

I think black and white cows are such a funny creation. Big, black and white and lackadaisical against a green and brown back drop.. might as well have a sign around them that says "Eat Me", "FOOOD", ha. That said I prefer to eat rice and vegetables so much more.

I definitely enjoy a nice big chunk of BBQ'd cow meat - but I sure pay attention to where it comes from. I don't think I would stop eating it either.
Farming animals is a good thing - I can't say much about those food lots though and injecting the animals with shit to make them fat. They can still grow animals for food and give the animals a nice happy life (albeit shorter one) so we can eat yummy food.

Watch Food Inc - I definitely liked how the small farmer guy was farming more than the feed lot farming and over populated chicken coops.

Ever had bison? YUM YUM !
