I lost my ads because of those spam bots. I made an appeal but from now on I am just blocking all new members from joining or actually they can join but all they will be able to do is read posts they cant make any of their own. We have enough people anyway. I needed that money really badly. I hope my appeal goes through.

So, are you responsible to protect against spam in your ad contract?

I am curious as to their argument to without the funds. Did they say your "site visit activity" numbers weren't "real numbers" since they were generated by spam bots?

Could you make some sort of paid account system, where you could sign up if you donate $X?

we deleted 100s of bots in the last couple days. it wasn't about numbers it was because some bot linked to a site that had stolen copyright materiel. I know it was a bot because it was to a thread from 2008. The offensive post had already been auto deleted but I deleted the whole thread anyway just in case. My account is still active but my ads have been disabled. I wrote them appeals but you know I have to search through the whole site to see if there are any other such post like that from bots. Cause some bots still get through.

I guess I could go to paid membership only but man that sucks for all of yall. I was getting about 200+ a month from google. That was my kids xmas money and my airplane home once a year money.

That sucks. Sorry to hear. Have you ever thought about changing the format of this forum over to something like V-bulletin ?

im not very tech savy with that kind of thing and there are so many links to threads on this site alreay i dont want to yank them. If google rejects my appeal i may to go to a pay site like X a month to post and read and maybe just a one time x to only read.

ok i pruned about 150 bots out of the system.
I will know in about 24 hours if google is going to allow ads or not.

I would gladly pay to access the site. I like the content and the attitude presented here.

well I am trying appeals first. It seems all the phbb sites were hit at the same ite and are dealing with the same problem. Hopefully google will listen.
