France Confirms Troops On Ground in Northern Mali

President Francois Hollande says French troops are taking part in operations against Islamists in northern Mali.
French troops "have brought... support to Malian units to fight against terrorist elements", Mr Hollande said.
He said the intervention was in line with international law, and had been agreed with Malian President Dioncounda Traore.
Mr Hollande said French military action had begun on Friday afternoon and would last "as long as necessary".

Mali is starving. We can send troops to protect our resources in Mali but not help the people?
I guess as long as they continue to cultivate their lands for 1st worlders benefit.
dont they also have gold in that country?

lithium.. like for rechargeable batteries.... I recall a report talking about how expensive "eco friendly" veh are so expensive because of the batteries... We couldnt be stealing from Mali.
Its so disgusting. I swear people need to get off the grid and stop being a taker. buy small business even if it is more expensive.. dont go to walmart for your crap.. use small business for all your services too. oil change dont go to national chains go to joe blow down the street or change ur self... buy your sugar directly from south america...grow your own food...etc etc... of course you will have to buy solar panels and stuff like that from the system to get off the system...

Arm the rebels in Libya. Weapons end up transferred to terrorists in Mali. Arm the French to invade and fight the same terrorists we gave weapons to in Libya. Bomb them and loot their resources. Rinse and repeat.

I'm a little surprised at the extent of support for this ... The Guardian website poll shows 79% in favour of this action in which the UK is assisting
