I think the same could be said for most things. Americans know very little about American history as well. It makes me wonder what people do with their lives. I used to say most Christians can not even name half the titles of the 66 books in the bible much claim to have read them.
I think Islam is different they tend to read their text or have it read to them. But they are clueless as to how much of the bible they are copying. Because no one reads that book.
Atheists normally have read the bible that tends to be WHY they are atheist.

im an atheist and have never read the bible, dont want to but i know exactly what your talking about. my parents know nothing about religion but they believe it blindly because when they were kids it was pounded into there heads. i might eventually read the bible but there are alot of books im much more interested in right now
No Islam does not confirm the truth of the bible. I cant even believe you said bible and truth in the same sentence.
Islam copies the bible. They have the same fictional charaters, Adam, Abraham, etc none of those people even existed. And then they copy other characters known because its the same stupid stories and give them new names.
The bible is not true. The creation story is not even worth my time to explain because you ought to be able to see thorugh that on your own and if not I would be wasting my time to talk to you because you are not going to listen to reason anyway.
Exodus is not true either. Cyrus freed the Hebrews, he freed all the slaves in Babylon. Moses did not free the Jews. And nobody walked through the Red Sea. There was never even a chase.
The bible has a man living inside a whale's belly for three days who later makes the sun which revolved around the earth stand still. Do you think that is true? This BS is only topped later by a man with magical hair named Samson praised for killing a thousand Palestinians with the jawbone of a donkey, who kills a lion with his bare hands and then rips down a city gate and carries it on his back. Their are sorccerors and witches in the Bible as well as unicorns. Also demons, ghosts, and angels and talking animals like donkey's and snakes. It is full of slavery as well as debt servents, it treats women as secondary beings, homosexuals are damned to hwell and yes I know you think it is only buttfucking that is a sin not being gay, that is not true, just being gay is enough including lesbians. And I dont want you to hone in on that point and just ignore all the other stuff I mentioned like it does not matter. Babies are murdered, their is racism, sexism, deception, rape, and torture. They also have kingdoms determined by bloodlines. And all of it so long as it is gentiles getting the sharp end of the stick, is said to be great stuff.
The New Testament is mostly about the son of god who I know as a muslim you think was just a prophet but not a god, let me fill you in the guy didn't even exist at all, his stories are copied straight up from earlier religious characters Krishna and Horace.
If you read ancient history I believe as an intelligent person you would give up on your religion. The problem is you are ready decided what is true (based on early brainwashing) and you use your mine to create ellaborate excuses for it craziness and just total ignore investigating its origins.
How about that story of the tower of Babble, do you actually think that is where languages came from? lol. I made a film on the bible explains what is true and what is distorted based on history. You should watch it. I get the feeling you never read the bible you just heard the Qurran was confirming it. The Qurran although centuries more new is still full of mistakes too even though it is better than the bible its is still about on par with Mother Goose Stories with 1000 times more blood.

Can I prove the Garden of Eden story is a myth? Yes I can just as well as I can prove the story of the three little pigs is fiction. Can you prove they didn't exist? NO, you can't. You only repeat conjecture.
Ha ha I can't believe you tried to answer your own question as to what I can and cannot do. First of all I dont have to prove a negative you have to prove they did exist. You also have to explain away all the insanities. A talking animal magical trees a burning Bush an all knmowing God who didn't know thing and an all power god taking rests and needing a rib from man to make a woman.
Lets see the creation story. Ok first of all god creates plants before making the sun when plants don't live without the sun. God then puts the sun and the moon in the sky. The sky is defined as the exspanse between the two waters. As the anceint theory at the time hheld to explain rain. And the water was above the sun and moon lol. Well the moon and sun are both in space well farther away and above the clouds. The sun is larger than the sky and could not fit in it. God then makes all the animals at the same time in a few days makng birds before land animals bacwards from evolution. Not that I exspect a religious idiot to care about evolution or empirical evidence. The bible has people living for multiple centuries which is also impossible. Yet the earth is only 6 thousand years old. Amdam and Even are said to be the only peple and apparently they had children then suddenly after cain kills Able he also has children so unless god created another woman which is never mentioned then Cain fucked his mother. Hey it is not far fetched Lott fucks both his daughters.
Moses freeing the slaves from Egypt is factually wrong. It is a historical fucking facts backed by loads of evidence that Cryus the Great freed the slaves not Moses. The Hebrew people even honored him. The Bible is Bullshit and the Qurran is its extention.
From The Hebrew Bible, Ezra 1:1-8:
In the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, in order to fulfill the word of the Lord spoken by Jeremiah, the Lord inspired King Cyrus of Persia to issue this proclamation throughout his kingdom, both by word of mouth and in writing: "Thus says Cyrus, king of Persia: "All the kingdoms of the earth the Lord, the God of heaven, has given to me, and he has also charged me to build him a house in Jerusalem, which is in Judah. Whoever, therefore, among you belongs to any part of his people, let him go up, and may his God be with him! Let everyone who has survived, in whatever place he may have dwelt, be assisted by the people of that place with silver, gold, and goods, together with free will offerings for the house of God in Jerusalem.' Then the family heads of Judah and Benjamin and the priests and Levites---everyone, that is, whom God had inspired to do so---prepared to go up to build the house of the Lord in Jerusalem. All their neighbors gave them help in every way, with silver, gold, goods, and cattle, and with many precious gifts besides all their free-will offerings. King Cyrus, too, had the utensils of the house of the Lord brought forth which Nebuchadnezzar had taken away from Jerusalem and placed in the house of his god. Cyrus, king of Persia, had them brought forth by the treasurer Mithredath, and counted out to Sheshbazzar, the prince of Judah.
That was back in 539 BC the Koran comes along oh about 1,000 years later lol.
buddy you dont know what the Hell you are talk ing about. Truth of the Bible

What I find extra funny is that Cyrus rejected the Jews trying to honor him. He wanted nothing to do with their religion. He set all the slaves free because he didn't beleive in slavery. Oh but Jews and Christian certainly did and by the second book in the Bible you already have rules about how to punish slaves and how to buy and sell them.
It is totally unjustifiable.

Just read Matthew or Luke, those are really the only important ones. And you only need to read one cause they are the same story. It took me 3 days to read Matthew, more because of the way the Bible is worded as compared with contemporary books than because of it's length. One of these two will give you a pretty accurate understanding of what Jesus of Nazareth was all about. Which, ironically, is NOT what most Christians are all about. As a matter of fact, Jesus contradicts almost everything from the Old Testament. And although it does list fantastic stories of impossible miracles, they can all be explained if you just think rationally about them and put them in context with the overall message.Huckabeez wrote:im an atheist and have never read the bible, dont want to but i know exactly what your talking about. my parents know nothing about religion but they believe it blindly because when they were kids it was pounded into there heads. i might eventually read the bible but there are alot of books im much more interested in right now

How so? Do you mean as in like interpreting them as symbolism meant to teach lessons rather than events that actually happened? All Christians have to do this in order to believe the bible right? I mean talking animals.ronpaulitician wrote:read Matthew or Luke, those are really the only important ones. And you only need to read one cause they are the same story. Exactly. For instance when Jesus supposedly calmed the tempest when they were all about to sink in the boat. I don't believe that Jesus actually stopped the storm with some sort of magic power. What I believe is that he had enough faith in God to not be worried about it, and we should learn to have faith and not worry about the things we can't control. Also with the supposed miracle concerning the few loaves of bread that wound up feeding all these people just means they all put eachother above themselves. Thus the limited amount of bread was able to go around to everyone felt their hunger satisfied. Just things like that... I'll have to check in my Bible when I get home for the direct Jesus quotes from these two alleged miracles(and also him contradicting the Old Testament) so I'll send those to you later. And I believe Jesus tells us what it takes to be a Christian(you don't have to believe in talking to animals), it's just all these so-called Chrisitans these days aren't listening...Infinite wrote:How so? Maybe you can just absorb the value that's there & edit out the bullshit but just be a good person rather than a Christian necessarily. I mean if it's already established that not everything in it is true, that in fact much of it is impossible.
One side of the story that's not argued on this site is that some atheists do not only believe in religion or god but they don't even believe in the concept of right or wrong or that life has any value. So atheism can be as dangerous as religion. Spirituality & consciousness are the truth rather than atheism or organized religion in my opinion. But people have the right to believe or not believe what they want as long as they don't infringe on other peoples' rights (which almost all Christians do by supporting the World Church Council)
Also BTW Alex Jones attacks the churches constantly. Most anti-New World Order Christians do not support the Zionist churches.

No prior to the Christians only Jews could worship their god, ChristSimilarly the Christians name their religion Christianity after Christ. Jesus did not not start a new religion but came to confirm the monotheism (the oneness of God) and the Law sent to the Jews. The idea of the Trinity came from the Council of Nicea NOT from Jesus. Even Jesus prayed to a higher power so how could he be God?
8who was not even real) made the religion open to ALL people, thus making it a very different religion by removing the tribalism.
I just gave you like 15 reasns why the creation story was impossible and you want direct evidence of an even t that didn't happen. You can't possibly be that fucking stupid. That like saying prove Herculese or Athena was NOT real based on direct evidence. If there is no evidence FOR it to be true then that is the edvidence that it is not true. Especially when the story is faced with mountains of impossibilities and contradicts well know history and science.
You are that fucking stupid then. The book is about the exadus dumb ass. Plus it is a Historical fact that Cyrus the Great set the Hebrew people free. There was no Moses and there was no Egyptian army chasing them in a foot race across the Red Sea. The tower of Bable just a Zigarat to a foreign god in Babylon, it did not reach to Heven and it is not the source of all the world's languages. There was no Noah's ark. That should be self evident. There was probably not even a Noah. From The Hebrew Bible, Ezra 1:1-8:

Exodus happens before the events in Ezra. The Books of the Bible are arranged in chronological order. Exodus appears before Ezra. Exodus is not the same story in Ezra.
Damn man at least most Chtristians and Jews will claim that those stories are not litteral true and will try and worm their way out of it by calling them metophoric. But you think it actually hapened as it is written even when another part of the same bible contradicts itself completely.
You thinks I should ban this guy on the general principle of being retarded?
And the rest of you, yes the jesus character is VERY different from the OT god he is a million times better than that facist. Point is he is a character and his story is based on earlier myths from different faiths. It was a way to create monotheism AKA put all the money under one roof and get rid of the Republic in favor of an emporer given divine right. They copied the Jewish religion and took a hero character from another religion and used that story to make the one god stuff available to the Romans and all the peoples in their empire.
