Well that bellydancing school is run by a "brownie" my friend Dessy from Indonesia and invited to parade through the middle of the captial city. Japanese people do not care how brown black or white you are. If they have a prejudice it is to fat people and to Chinese. If you're fat and chinese then don't even bother, no one will speak to you unless you speak to them. being fat is repulsive in Japan. Not everyone obviously but its totally not taboo to knock someone for their size and push them to diet or take care of themselves. And yet age is completely off limits (for women). In the US age isn't really a big deal you ask a lady how old are you they can say 35 or whatever like its nothing but you dont ask a person weight and dis on them for it.

The food does suck. But it is not like one has to eat only what is indigenous to Japan. 90% of what people eat around the world is the same shit. They have great drinks and icecreams here. Of course if you like rice or Tea you'd be in heven. I prefer America not because the food is better, its mostly the same stuff, I prefer it in the US because it is bigger.

This isn't the Samurai period Japan is not xenophobic. The gov is offering people free tickets to visit japan. The overwhelming and undisbuted feed back from people who visit Japan from wherever is the exact opposit of what you "heard" Japan people have a reputation for being overly polite and nice and considerate especially to foreigners.

However if you are an ass you will be treated as such. This is an indirect culture. People are indirect you have to read the air. Americans are fairly direct at least the men are the women sometime expect you to read their minds, and its hardest for middle easterns who have a super direct culture. To the US and especially to the Japanese they will come off as pushy and rude. But people should remember you are in their country. When in Rome....

There are some people who come to Asia esentially looking to party and play with hookers if thats you gig go to thailand or somewhere in south east asia dont bring that shit to Japan. The big gripe I hear ocassionaly from froeigners is they were not allowed in such and such a club one time. They also dont speak Japanese. When I pry it always turns out to be some sketchy possibly mafia run hole in the wall that doesn't want to deal with foreigners mainly because of retarded US servicemen. If thats their biggest complaint go try getting ataxi in New York without being white and middle aged and not too big and wearing nice clothing.

It isn’t proper in the US to ask a lady her age either. I just openly share my age. It’s a boost to my ego when people are in shock as I don’t look my age nor do I personally mind to tell people my weight either.

Japanese food is good. They just don’t have good desserts. The French win that one hands down.

However, Japanese is one of the ugliest sounding languages out there. The written language is neat though. Of the languages of Asia, I think I like Old Chinese the best.

nah in the US its not proper to ask a middle age woman her age but its like half of them will tell you anyway. here you just can't do it. its like saying what color is your underwear today or something.

Of course you dont have to be Arabic to belly dance, anyone can do it. Also anyone can eat sushi, but I dont want just anyone to make it.

fair enough well the teacher trained in Turkey and I forget somewhere near there, she speaks like 4 languages.
