The fine they have in Australia seems reasonable, only I think it should be lower and the person's income level be taken into account.
OK. So, you're fine with taking someone else's shit. Would you go take their shit? Or, would you just vote for an asshole to hire some other asshole to take their shit?

I gotta agree with dick on this one. I don't want more govt and I certainly don't want to be fined if I don't vote. Is the govt going to buy my gas too? I like the idea of not having an R or D by the name.

People should be able to vote for whoever they want BUT be sure to vote for somebody and not just stay on the wall as an invisible citizen. I don't buy into that whole George Carlin crap you seem to be standing by. I think a fine would give people a chance for a deeper consideration of who they are giving a job to and less or no restrictions on who and where you can vote would generate a much larger participation outcome.

No way if someone doesn't want to vote they dont have to also dumb and uninformed people should not vote. of a person doesn't care enough to vote then they shouldn't be counted, also this isn't Australia there are 300 million people not 22 million. Tokyo is larger nearly 50% larger than the whole country of Australia, and the US is twice the size and then some of all of Japan.

You have to sit down and think about how much you and New Zealand to, don't really matter.

I'm not entirely sure a fine would cause more uninformed people to vote than there already are if anything I'm thinking it would invite those who lack natural curiosity and self respect to keep up with politics investigate their candidates better - and add to it getting rid of all the regulations enclosing voters so they have to pick between just one or 2 parties/runners. It would be interesting to see the results of these kind of rules on one major US election.

How do you find the Australian system, Raoul? Have you ever not voted?

Ah! Ya gotta love the Australian system.

"Vote for one our pre-chosen candidates or we'll send men with guns to take yer shit. "

So, ya vote for pre-chosen shit so ya can keep yer shit. Then they say,

"The people have chosen this shit over that shit. Now do what this shit says or we'll send men with guns to take your shit or put you in a cage."

Naava, are you going to answer my question:
Which role would you play in this:

prison guard,
cracking the bull whip,
taking someone's shit,
dropping the ax,
voting for someone to hire someone else to do it?

Streching it much? You're acting like I'm suggesting the fine should be a 1000 dollars.

Still fascinated to hear from Raoul.
