All liberal justices voted against this ruling.

Politics are divided into two fields economics and social freedoms.

On economics we have two parties both big government both pro war and into big spending on all manners of bullshit. Neither is fiscally responsible both ratchet up huge debt and act as a rent-a-government for wallstreet and the MIC.

On social issues we have o one hand the intrusive nanny state wanting to regulate everything from school lunches to what kind of light bulb you can buy and a core groups of extremist control freaks hiding behind "environmentalism. On the other side we have the puritan patrol some going as far as wanting to ban/limit birth control, and hide behind "religious piety." BOth groups are pro-spying on American, radioactive strip searches in the airports, the Patriot Act and torture.

Then we have the out of control executive who think he can create laws and break laws just by writing executive orders. Detention forever without a trial and assassination, he if so chooses, of anyone in the world.

The only solution we have right now short of armed revolt, is Ron Paul.

The nanny state has no doubt been under the conservatives.

Public schools are funded by the govt, having healthy lunches is a great idea, unlike Reagan who wanted to define ketsup as a vegetable. Some kids only eat at school. I can still buy any kind of light bulb I want. I cant use the fluorescent light bulbs because of the lupus.

federal spending:

Here's Federal Expenditures from 2000-2011 (quarterly figures, annualized), from the St. Louis Fed: http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/FGEXPND" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

As you can see, from 2000 to 2008, under President Bush, Federal spending rose by $1.3 trillion, from $1.9 trillion a year to $3.2 trillion a year.

From 2009 to 2011, meanwhile, under President Obama, federal spending has risen by $600 billion, from $3.2 trillion a year to $3.8 trillion a year. It has also now begun to decline.

In other words, federal government spending under President Bush increased 2X as much as it has under President Obama.

NO doubt both are pro-war and no doubt both want more control, but it does seem conservatives want to give local police more control with this ruling.

No phys, people who bring lunch to school should be able to eat whatever the fuck they want and the gov's idea of what is healthy isn't very healthy.

Phys that's because Obama is adding increases on top of Bush's increases thus Obama is spending a lot more money. Come on don't you teach math?

$3.8 trillion is > $3.2 trillion and Obama hasn't even had a full 4 years yet much less 8. And the data form so far in 2012 hasn't even been added yet that's 3 vs 8 and forgetting that Obama kept and then increased what Bush did. If he was really less than Bush he would have reduced spinning below what Bush had spent and yet he increased it already.

Settle down Ry. It's just the facts.

Kids are able to bring whatever they want to eat at lunch. It's just they cant buy whatever they want at the school.

And yes, it is an increase on top of Bush's numbers at the height of the increase but didn't you also notices the graph is decreasing not increasing? Change the date and you can see it more clearly. http://research.stlouisfed.org/fred2/series/FGEXPND" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I will bookmark this thread and we can revisit toward the end of Obama's second term then we can really compare the numbers.
