I didn't say that. Its more complex than that. I think you may want to read Ry's thread about political ideology dogma.R4F1 wrote:If that's all its good for "a higher profit margin", then thats explains why businesses are closing shop left and right in Detroit. They can't make money! You can thank taxes for that. You're only proving our point.Phys wrote:I dont think we'll ever see eye to eye on this.![]()
If taxes were lowered, I wouldnt hire more people. I hire more people cause I need them regardless of low or high tax. The more vans/trucks we have running the more money we are making since we can produce more. If our business taxes were lowered, we would just have a higher profit margin. We wouldnt hire more people.

Re: Detroit
If that's the case, then all of the small businesses should close up shop and become mobile so the state can't shut them down and gets no revenue from them. This way, the state can go bankrupt while those small businesses flourish. Once the state goes bankrupt, it is forced to downsize, and then the small businesses can open their shops again, and perhaps the city can start to grow again.Ry wrote:The state bled all the businesses dry to feed itself.
I would say that it is more analogous to cancer than to a parasite. Like a cell, the state is healthy when it stays within its fixed boundaries. Once it goes beyond its boundaries, it becomes a cancer that threatens the survival of everything else within its reach.R4F1 wrote:The state is in desperation mode. Businesses left and right have gone bankrupt, but only the state remains standing. But the State needs to feed on those very businesses for survival. Like a parasite that gets fat from its host, with ever more the host dies, the parasite itself comes closer to its own death.

The city gov does not downsize though it just gets federal bailouts and continues to bleed the city residence.

City govt does downsize. In fact they are required to take furlough days. The city govt is not separate from the residence. Many local politicians also have small businesses. Detroit experienced a mass exodus when manufacturing went under. A lot people and unskilled labor had to leave to find work.Ry wrote:The city gov does not downsize though it just gets federal bailouts and continues to bleed the city residence.
New York City will never be a Detroit.

You're not much of a businesswoman then. If you sell pies, and suddenly everyone in your community starts having more disposable imcome (lower taxes) it would be a wise business decision to expand your business and hire more people.Phys wrote:I dont think we'll ever see eye to eye on this.![]()

So if they just keep getting free bailout money, then is there no way for them to go bankrupt?Ry wrote:The city gov does not downsize though it just gets federal bailouts and continues to bleed the city residence.

Bankruptcy is a great means of clearing debt ask Donald Trump and others. You just have to have a good lawyer to do it right.
The main takeaway from this thread. City govt does downsize. In fact they are required to take furlough days. The city govt is not separate from the residence. Many local politicians also have small businesses. Detroit experienced a mass exodus when manufacturing went under. A lot people and unskilled labor had to leave to find work.

We dont sell pies. We sell HVAC service. People in Texas will sell their first born not to be hot in the 110F heat. Business is good. We dont hire people because a few people have more disposable income. We expand our business if our business model suggest that we do so. Lowering taxes only affects a small group of people and typically those people already have the resources to pay. You dont know what you are talking about KonDon. You are just pulling shit out of your ass. You're not much of a businesswoman then. If you sell pies, and suddenly everyone in your community starts having more disposable imcome (lower taxes) it would be a wise business decision to expand your business and hire more people.
