RIP Mandela
Re: RIP Mandela
I don't understand the hero worship with Mandela. No one has given any validation for it whatsoever outside of an urging to go along unquestioningly with this silly media propaganda blitz.
I mean we all completely raked Obama over the coals for meaningless flowery speeches but at least neither Obama nor his wife were running around inciting the most brutal acts violence or ordering terrorist attacks before they were propelled to prominence.

Re: RIP Mandela
Yeah, the racist state of south-africa was good and healthy for everybody and eventually white people would come to there senses after 400 years and threat other colored people as equals. No need for violent revolution.

Re: RIP Mandela
He opposed discrimination against blacks, to some people this alone is justification for killing whoever you want and throwing society down the shitter (SA has never recovered the policies that ensued). Discrimination was a big thing in that era, all over the world, South Africa was not a unique case in going through this stage.Rio wrote:I don't understand the hero worship with Mandela. Blender is a good example of someone who behaves arbitrarily, he laughs at the idea of discrimination eventually becoming irrelevant, even though that's exactly what happened when the UK outlawed slavery, stores eventually taking down their "coloureds" or "white" only signs in western countries.
We possess several hundred atomic warheads and rockets and can launch them at targets in all directions, perhaps even at Rome. Most European capitals are targets for our air force…. We have the capability to take the world down with us. And I can assure you that that will happen before Israel goes under.
Re: RIP Mandela
It seems that one form of discrimination was replace with another and an unheard of level of violence, corruption and cronyism followed. Not that South Africa had a good, fair system before; I don't know I wasn't there. But what has become of that nation since the a partied is dreadful.haarp wrote:

I mean a perfect example is that story of the sign language interpreter.

Re: RIP Mandela
Replacing white-supremacy with black-supremacy was something that could have or was about to happen, UNTIL Mandela displayed that he is perfectly fine with White people. This is why he supported the SA Rugby team, which was predominantly White, and was previously disliked by most SA Blacks as it was associated with White culture.Rio wrote:It seems that one form of discrimination was replace with another and an unheard of level of violence, corruption and cronyism followed. If you wanna see a country where Black-supremacy DID replace White-supremacy, then that would be Zimbabwe. Some people are confusing Mugabe with Mandela. Both were anti-imperialists (which i commend each for), but Mugabe went batshit afterwards, but not Mandela.
No one said there wasn't corruption and inadequacy in third-world African countries.I mean a perfect example is that story of the sign language interpreter.

You're the one with cognitive dissonance here. You have a serious disconnect with historical events and their context. That's either because you're to young or just malinformed (not misinformed, malinformed). Furthermore, you should ask someone, anyone, to proofread your comments before you post them, filter out the shit and giggles.haarp wrote:He opposed discrimination against blacks, to some people this alone is justification for killing whoever you want and throwing society down the shitter (SA has never recovered the policies that ensued). Discrimination (as a social political force) has made a huge comeback since 2001. Back then it wasn't discrimination in SA, it was called racism and they themselves called it that way. Brutally oppressive, hateful and murderous system (supported by the good old us of a) and you use the term discrimination. There's giggles for you.
When Mandela was president the first thing he did was ask the "black" population to forgive the "white" population. He started a healing process so SA could move into the future. You don't seem to know or remember. He also said some things would take time to heal.
This is all the comment you strange and disconnected haters will get from me until your properly educate yourself.
One last comment; "white" just as "black" is a construct not a skin color. Good luck fumbling around in your brown paper bag.

Its also reported he's schizophrenic and known to have violent bursts. Its a shame he didn't have one such moment and took out Obama.Rio wrote:The South African government couldn't even get a legitimate sign language translatorSign language translator at Nelson Mandela's memorial was a FAKE: South Africa's deaf federation confirms his movements had 'no meaning'

Haven't read the whole thread, don't participate in this forum as much as I used to, but I just wanted to say it is sickening to hear all the crocodile tears from governments who were instrumental in jailing him in the first place.
