Assange is certainly not a terrorist, but I think the way this issue is framed between terrorist vs hero is misleading. Wikileaks was suspiciously elevated and praised by mass media before it even released anything, and when it did it was just... a bunch of obvious stuff that is all over the web already anyway, and yet sandwiched in with the no brainers, was state propaganda about Iran, Pakistan, and "Al Qaeda." sure wikileaks plays "neutral" on the raw cables it released to the MSM filters, but it knew darn well what would be done with that. I mean please, thousands of cables and not a one on the illegal drug trade in Afghanistan? Not a one on Israel's nukes, or the torture in Iraq? That's not possible. This is an intelligence operation, Assange told of very private conversations about the state department showing how they had eyes and ear up everyone's skirt but said nothing of substance, that's an indirect way of blackmail and selling blackmail. Selling intelligence on the black market is as common place as weapons and narcotics. One world leader has given Wikileaks praise... Netanyayu.... enough said.

Assnage is also poo pooing 911 truth. And yet he is out there spreading rumors about "Al Qaeda". You know if the Bin laden tapes were fakes as we know some of them were given that they copied footage from fictional films, and the hijackers were not who they were said to be and instead were a trail created by stolen passports, evident that 7 of the so called hijackers are still alive and one died before 911 happened, and the anthrax ddin't really come from the hijackers either but from the US's own labs, then there really isn't any evidence at all of Bin Laden being involved in the 911 attacks. Yet there is evidence of Israel involvement, in the attacks, via truck bombs and mossad filming the first plane hitting, in the hijackiersgiven the mossad living next to hijackers, and one the first cousin of a mossad agent, and the anthrax attack given Israel lied about a meeting in prague between a 911 hijacker and Iraqi agents where they said they witness a transfer of anthrax, and from a zionist who was caught stealing anthrax from the labs who sent the justice department a letter with fore knowledge of the attack before any anthrax letters had been opened.... Only one leader said the attacks were good ...Netanyahu...enough said.

My take is that anything that MSM focuses on is something we should NOT get distracted by.

In my opinion, Ryan's got it 100% right, in his usual easy-to-understand style. I heard Webster Tarpley in a recent interview and I think he also hit the nail on the head concerning this Wikileaks business. He reminded us that Cass Sunstein advocated using "cognitive dissonance" to confuse the community of internet activists, and confuse everyone in general. In other words, in future, we can expect to see more sophisticated con jobs from the government in this information warfare, at a level of sophistication that we have not often seen before. (It's also interesting that Tarpley says that Daniel Ellsberg and his release of the Pentagon Papers was a similar scam to Assange and his Wikileaks.)

Other internet commentators have mentioned the use of "game theory" in these con jobs and I think that is exactly what they are doing. Game theory involves the use of mathematically-based computer models. For example, if one player does "X" then there is a high probability that the other player will do "Y", which will result in "Z". Another aspect of game theory is the idea of taking a temporary loss in order to put yourself into a stronger position and win the overall game. For example in chess, sacrificing your queen in order to win the game. With this Wikileaks business, the sacrifice is to release information that seems to hurt the U.S. government but to include amongst that information other stuff that strengthens their overall position in the fake "war on terror". Yes, Wikileaks has alerted those people who don't normally pay much attention to political topics by reading the alternative media to war atrocities etc., things that people who read sites such as rys2sense already know. But this eye-opening experience for the politically unsophisticated people also leaves them much more likely to accept that the propaganda items pointing the finger at Iran etc. are true. If the government tried to make some of the claims that Wikileaks says, people will say, "Where's the evidence?" but if the same claims are made via Wikileaks, the government is free from this restriction.

I also think that the purpose of the Wikileaks operation is multi-pronged. Not only is the government trying to brainwash more people into accepting an attack on Iran, the aim of Wikileaks is to also use it as an excuse to restrict internet freedom. Therefore, it would be a big mistake to push for the criminal prosecution of Assange because that would be falling into the trap that the government has set with this big con job.

You can bet Assange's "insurance" policy is to threaten to leak big on Israel if he isn't prevented from going to jail. Of course considering one of the women accusing him already went back to Israel it could be Israel tell Assange not to leak unless it's not about them. But given the way the press praised him in advance, seems like rape case was just a way to play bad wrestler and give wikileaks credit by having the big bad state trump op charges on the white knight.
