To the guy who said nothing I do matters.

I got a typical post from a cynic complaining and saying we are all powerless and what I do is a waste of time and will change nothing. I can think of nothing thats more of a waste of time then telling people to join your helplessness.  Any here is my reply.

HI, here is a letter I got right after yours.

“Thought to mention too late after I got up, but I really wanted to say thank you dude –
I’m a combat veteran, family man and on the way out  to be released Infantry soldier of 12 years from the military and spent  a lot of years suffering badly from PTSD and something called a “moral  injury”.

Your videos and  your messages resonated with me and helped bring clarity to some issues  in my head I was having a very difficult time with reconciling. Coming  from playing with a gun in my mouth to where I am today, has been quite  an experience and I’m sorry to say many of my comrades were not so  lucky. Parting gifts of an unjust war, in my summarized opinion.

Once again, if it means anything, thank you. You helped save my life and  set me straight. I feel like I did when I was 17 – positive, hopeful  and gas tank refilled to do what needs to be done.”

Possibly I may have saved this person’s life.  I have  a bunch of letters like this. I got one recently form a Palestinian teenager who has been following me since she was 12 I wont share the content but suffice it to say she’s to see Americans defending them and knowing their situation. What we say makes a difference. Not everything has to save the entire world in order for it to have any meaning.
